Our father, Yosef Polatsek, was born in Satu Mare, Hungary, on September 2, 1925. World War II left him the sole survivor of his entire family. Exactly on his 20th birthday, he arrived in Israel on an immigrant ship from Italy. After staying for over a month in the Atlit detention camp, he settled in Haifa and studied architecture at the Technion. He gained his experience as an architect during the seven years we lived in Malmö, Sweden. In the early years of his career, he worked in private construction, and later focused on designing educational buildings.
This site describes his work as an architect as well as his personal history, as recounted in the biography he wrote in his later years.

with regards,
Rami, Gidi and Michael
